Update and changes to the village - October 2009
Bleak Future...
With recent changes in the group some members have decided it is the time to retire. With fewer members we now have to reconsider our future as the workload is increasingly becoming a strain on the three or four people who carry out all the tasks in the village.
Plans have been made for this winter but without further help in the not too distant future from villagers the group will have to seriously consider downscaling, or even closing areas which have become attractive landmarks in our village.
We hope you might want to join us, we are a very friendly few and would be devastated if we couldn't continue.
Please email admin@southcaveinbloom.co.uk or tel justin 423531 if you can help in some way. Thank-you!

NEW JUDGING CRITERIA - Feb 2009
In recent weeks, the Yorkshire in Bloom organisation has reviewed its judging processes and has for all our benefits placed a greater emphasis on "Sustainability". This means we will be putting in more permanent planting, i.e. herbaceous & shrubs which are better for the local environment. As well as this we're creating meadows, areas for wildlife and embarking on a tree planting scheme with the Parish Council.
We'll still be embellishing our schemes with some annual planting, hopefully grown by our members or bought locally so we can support our traders.
Any ideas are welcome, particularly in regard to creating wildlife habitats.
Please note we respect your privacy and will never pass on or use your email address for any other purpose than South Cave in Bloom Matters.
