Who we are & What we do...
The South Cave in Bloom Association was set up in 2004 after an enthusiastic public meeting. Each year we enter South Cave into the Yorkshire in Bloom Competition. Judging takes place twice a year, once in Spring and once in Summer.
Currently we work at a handful of sites across the village and have many other projects on the go. These include the Flowerbeds at Castle Drive, The Library Flowerbeds & planters, Market Place planters and hanging baskets, Rawdale Close Gardens, Bacchus Lane, Church Hill lavender walk, the cemetery flowerbeds and the Churchyard...and more!
We're a voluntary organisation, all monies are from donations or are raised by holding coffee mornings, open gardens and similar events. All members of the South Cave in Bloom Association are volunteers and give their time willingly. New members are always welcome to join.

South Cave in Bloom is committed to sustainable practices
Our planting schemes are primarily perennial, thus benefiting wildlife and saving money.
We buy our plants from local nurseries, the purchase of "annuals" is kept to a minimum, we also grow our own. Geraniums are overwintered each year.
We are creating many wildlife habitiats at locations around the village. This year we will sow four wildflower meadows, and have undertaken a large restoration project at the beck on Church Street.
We endeavour not to use chemicals other than for the purpose of feeding and weeding amenity grass areas.
